Volunteer Leadership

United Way of the Coastal Empire is a volunteer-driven organization that involves community leaders and professionals in every aspect of our activities. We give a special thanks to the following volunteer groups for their ongoing support and commitment:

Board of Directors

United Way’s Board of Directors is composed of leaders from throughout our community. As members of the Board, these volunteers are charged with the responsibility of assuring the integrity of our organization by overseeing financial and policy decisions that guide the organization, volunteers and staff. County Advisory Boards

In cooperation with the Board of Directors of United Way of the Coastal Empire, the County Advisory Boards assist in determining direction, policy, budget and goals for United Way in Bryan, Effingham and Liberty counties.

Campaign Cabinet

United Way’s Campaign Cabinet includes leaders from both the public and private sectors of our community. Cabinet members volunteer their time to help increase community participation in the United Way campaign within their respective industries. Their leadership is critical to the success of the annual fund-raising effort. View Campaign Cabinet

Community Investments Vision Council

The Community Investments Vision Council serves to ensure that United Way of the Coastal Empire’s investments of donor contributions, staff time and other resources deliver positive community impact. The Vision Council provides oversight, guidance and support for The Community Fund investment process and initiatives. It guides the direction of UWCE’s overall community impact agenda by helping to maintain focus on current areas of need in the community, identifying gaps in services within the community, advocating for policy and systems-change, where applicable, and actively promoting The Community Fund among the donor community as the best vehicle for supporting human services. Finance Committee

United Way’s Finance Committee consists of community volunteers who have professional experience and expertise in finance. The primary responsibility of the committee is to oversee the organization’s financial reporting and management practices on behalf of the Board and report the results of their activities to the Board. Marketing Committee

United Way’s Marketing Committee includes volunteers with professional experience and expertise in the areas of marketing, communications, special events and public relations. They work with the marketing department to strategize about how to effectively communicate the organization’s mission within the four county community. View Marketing Committee

Young Leader Society (YLS) Steering Committee

YLS Steering Committee is driven by the ideas and input from our membership. With eleven volunteers on the Steering Committee leading the charge, it truly is a lively group. A Chair and Vice-Chair keep things focused and allow the Membership, Community and Learning Opportunities committees to come up with great events for members. View YLS Steering Committee
