Effingham Farmer’s Garden Program
The Effingham Farmer’s Garden Program, with the help of local food pantry volunteers, enjoyed harvesting more than 800 pounds of potatoes and 300 pounds of squash. Local farmer, Ralph Harmon, generously donated his tractor, time and about 4 acres of land for the purpose of helping to provide our local food pantries with fresh produce. In turn, the pantry volunteers along with some of the families they serve, all work together harvesting the produce. The next crop to be harvested from Mr. Harmon’s field will be cucumbers!
