The mission of the United Way of the Coastal Empire (UWCE) is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.
Through partnerships, long-term planning and wise investment of donor contributions, United Way supports community programs and services within four priority issue areas: Education & Youth Development, Health & Wellness, Economic Independence and Basic Human Needs.
United Way of the Coastal Empire serves four counties: Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty.
We are a volunteer driven organization. A broad and diverse base of volunteer carefully review organization requests for funding, paying special attention to management, program delivery and outcomes accountability to ensure that your donations through the Community Fund are truly making a difference.
Thanks to the Herschel V. Jenkins Trust Fund and other income, which help cover administrative and fundraising costs, donor contributions go to help people in need.
United Way of the Coastal Empire recognizes the impact of the environment on quality of life and strives to be a leader in the sustainable movement of Georgia, the nation and the world. We are committed to the conservation of resources, including water and electricity, and the reduction of waste through the reuse and recycling of products.
