Savannah, GA – (February 8, 2010) – Most people know they can dial 9-1-1 for a medical emergency or to report a crime or 4-1-1 to inquire a phone number or an address.  But the general public might not be aware that there is also a 2-1-1 human services hotline for anything from employment support to finding a shelter location.

Savannah, GA (January 20, 2010) – Helen Bryant’s home on 405 West 56^th Street in Savannah will be weatherized today, thanks to funds from the Home and Heart Warming Program.  The program, sponsored by Atlanta Gas Light Company and administered by United Way of the Coastal Empire, is in place to help seniors and low-income homeowners with free repairs or replacement of gas appliances, such as hot water heaters, furnaces, space heaters and cook stoves.

Savannah, GA (December 2, 2009) – United Way of the Coastal Empire is pleased to announce the 2009 campaign has raised $8,080,344 or 98% of the $8.2 million goal to help people in need in our community.  The funds raised will be used to support over 100 human service programs and services in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty counties.

Savannah, GA (November 20, 2009) – 2009 Campaign Chair Jeff Kole, President of Kole Management Company, and members of the Campaign Cabinet proudly reported current campaign results of $7,815,716 to a sold out crowd of over 400 people.  Kole thanked and honored dedicated volunteers, committed corporate partners, and valued community donors for pulling together to help those in need.

Savannah, GA (November 12, 2009) – Thus far in the 2009 campaign, United Way of the Coastal Empire has raised $4,965,265, 61% of the $8.2 million goal.  With just eight days left until United Way announces its final results for the year, we are asking for your help.

Savannah, GA (October 26, 2009) – For the third consecutive year, United Way of the Coastal Empire is the recipient of the Atlanta Gas Light Company’s Home and Heart Warming Program.  The grant, in the amount of $100,000, was awarded to help seniors and low-income homeowners with free repair or replacement of gas appliances, such as hot water heaters, furnaces, space heaters and stoves.

Savannah, GA (October 21, 2009) – With less than five weeks remaining until the campaign’s conclusion, 2009 Campaign Chair Jeff Kole announced today that the United Way of the Coastal Empire has raised $3,658,923 of its $8,200,000 goal, which represents 45% of the total.  The results were reported during a festive Mid-Campaign Rally held at Blowin’ Smoke BBQ.

Savannah, GA (October 2, 2009) – United Way of the Coastal Empire is excited to announce a generous contribution of $20,000 from Wachovia Bank, A Wells Fargo Company.  This contribution will be used to help low to moderate income individuals and families in owning a home in Chatham County through the Individual Development Account (IDA) program.
