Savannah, GA (May 25, 2011) – Avid golfers and supporters braved the heat as they took to the greens during the 19th Annual United Way Golf Tournament at The Club at Savannah Harbor on Monday, May 23rd, 2011.  Each year, the golf tournament is instrumental in jump-starting the United Way fundraising campaign, as it builds awareness of the human service programs that United Way supports throughout Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties.

Savannah, GA (March 30, 2011) – United Way of the Coastal Empire hosted more than 250 volunteers and supporters during its 73^rd Annual Meeting and Award Luncheon today at Hilton Savannah DeSoto, highlighting the work the organization has done throughout the past year and honoring volunteers for their dedicated service to the community through United Way work.  The celebration also recognized the support it received from approximately 26,000 donors and 700 companies during its 2010 campaign.

Savannah, GA (February 15, 2011) – Do you know an outstanding volunteer who you would like to see honored for their service to our community?  United Way Hands On Savannah is seeking nominations for the 2011 Volunteer Recognition Awards, a program which honors extraordinary volunteer work in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties.  The deadline for nominations is March 8, 2011.

Savannah, GA (January 20, 2011) - On January 11th United Way of the Coastal Empire (UWCE), in partnership with Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN), hosted the 2011 Coastal Nonprofit Bootcamp.  The event, held at the Savannah Civic Center, provided a complete day of training around topics critical to nonprofit organizations, including: Fundraising, Board Development and Evaluation.  The inclement weather sweeping throughout the Southeast at the time threatened a last-minute cancellation due to presenter no-shows, but the organizers successfully rallied outstanding alternates from the local community and the event went on with only a few substitutions.

Savannah, GA (November 19, 2010) – United Way of the Coastal Empire announced they exceeded their campaign goal by raising an impressing $8,116,280.  Campaign Chair Camille Russo, partner of Alta Innovations, and members of the Campaign Cabinet proudly reported campaign results to a sold out crowd of over 400 people at the Victory Celebration today at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center.

Savannah, GA (October 20, 2010) – With four weeks remaining until the campaign’s conclusion, 2010 Campaign Chair Camille Russo announced that United Way of the Coastal Empire has raised $4,028,270 of its $8,000,000 goal, which represents 50 percent of the total. The results were reported during a festive Campaign Rally held at Monterey Square.
