LIVE UNITED in Bryan County- New Area Director

Kristi Cox UW

With the retirement of Janice Blunt, I was offered and wholeheartedly accepted the position as the new Area Director for the United Way of the Coastal Empire’s Bryan County office and I am delighted to join this team as we work towards improving lives in our community.  As a past Loaned Associate for UWCE in Bryan County, I understand and am fully committed to the mission of United Way and the potential of affecting changes in the lives of fellow residents through dedication and hard work.

My experience and involvement in Bryan County over the past two decades will help guide the direction of our future human service program efforts.  With a background in the Juvenile Court System, I have always been an advocate for those in need and will continue to serve as an advocate for the community in my new position.  I have been actively involved in several community volunteer roles: i.e. Richmond Hill Primary School PTSO, Richmond Hill Elementary School Council, Bryan County Family Connection, Bryan County Drug Free Coalition, Girl Scout Troop Leader, in addition to many other roles – all of which have allowed me to build relationships and actively work with others to improve the lives of Bryan County children.

Focusing on our four priority issue areas – education & youth development, health & wellness, economic independence, and basic human needs – and prioritizing the needs of our community, I hope to bring businesses, individuals, and resources together to create opportunities for a better life for all people in Bryan County. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss  the vision for Bryan County’s future and would love for community members to share their needs and priorities with me.   Please feel free to contact me at 655-2725 or kcox@uwce.org.  There are so many opportunities for you to LIVE UNITED every day.  Please join us as we strive to improve the quality of life for everyone – GIVE, ADVOCATE, or VOLUNTEER.
