United Way of the Coastal Empire Campaign Hits 46% of Goal

With four weeks remaining until the Campaign’s conclusion, 2007 Campaign Chair Bert Tenenbaum announced that the United Way of the Coastal Empire has raised $3,704,076 of its $8 million goal, which represents 46% of the total.

The results were reported during a festive Campaign Rally held on Thursday, October 18 in Monterey Square. Since early September, hundreds of organizations and community volunteers have spent thousands of hours canvassing the four county areas to help the United Way reach its $8 million goal.

Tenenbaum praised donors and volunteers for the campaign’s progress and told the re-energized crowd that their hard work and dedication is showing results. “I’m pleased with the progress we’ve made so far. I believe we’re on the road to victory,” Tenenbaum said.

The United Way Campaign helps support 37 health and human service agencies that provide 85 programs and services to one out of every three individuals in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties.

All proceeds benefit the United Way of the Coastal Empire, whose mission is “To improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community.”

$7,430,654 or 93% of the goal has been raised (as of 11/14/07)

Each year, over 300 organizations in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties run a campaign for United Way.

The benefits are greater than you may know. United Way campaigns build employee morale and sense of team by focusing employees on critical community issues.
